Anyone notice that Flickr is working poorly?

I look on 'Recent Activity' and people have 'favourited' my pics, and made comments. But when I click on the images, there're no favourites flagged up and the comments are invisible! Same after a refresh.

This isn't consistent and sometimes the comments and favourites get through.

Yeah, I was finally able to upload a couple of pictures. But I deleted them when I saw notifications that they were faved but no record of the faves.

I think I'll wait until the bugs are ironed out before reposting them, or anything else.

Also, I noticed a lot of pictures appearing later, in moderated groups, from people whom I follow, that didn't appear in my stream when they posted them. So somehow my stream has skipped pictures of some good people that I would like to have seen. Since I do Flickr for the social aspect of it, to learn what pictures are good/interesting and what aren't, it makes no sense to be posting at this point.

Thanks to a mirror downloading website I was able to reinstall the same official flickr app for Android on the same cellphone eventually - great.

Now it's all set up like before : Android 4.3 and v. 4.3.5 of the flickr app.

But : I can't establish the connection - no way, either by clicking on "Connection" or on "Start over". Cleaning the cache etc doesn't help the least bit. I assume that this version of the app is trying to connect to flickr through the former Yahoo gate, which was closed during their last week Pandatime, obviously.

Anyone still successfully running the v. 4.3.5 of the Android app here ?

You should try updating the app to see if the latest version from Flickr is good. They were pushing updates to the mobile app up to the time of the "Maintenance Period", and at least once since then.

I think the problem is that the updates will only install on newer phones.

Now it doesn't allow me to enter!

Ask me a mail and a pw I do not have! And any move I do it starts a loop with the same two or three pages, enter with yahoo, it seems you are entering with an yahoo account use your flickr mail etc etc etc...

I had terrible problems with Flickr on my pc (Windows 8.1). My browser is Firefox. Finally I got help from Flickr themselves. They advise to use Chrome instead of Firefox. On Chrome Flickr works perfect, but I very much prefer Firefox as a browser. What to do?

I found that it worked much better on Chrome than Firefox so that's what I use.

Don`t use chrome for anything else.

So far I'm not having problems w/Firefox Quantum 67.0.3 (64-bit) on an iMac Retina 5K.

It works perfect for me with Firefox (just tested again a few seconds ago). And I have an old version of Windows (XP SP3) and a now outdated Firefox (ESR 52.9.0).

It's gone away from my smartphone forever till I am forced to replace it (the later the better). No way to install and make work any of their Android app. on mine for now (Android 4.3) while it used to work fine till their most recent maintenance, which made it blow out.

I can notice that the amount of uploads from people I follow is going down dramatically anyway. Most of them didn't go the PRO route. No big deal to have to look at the galleries from time to time in front of a PC, instead of being able to look at them 24/24 on a smartphone then.

One thing you might try, though, is make sure you have updated your Firefox. Flickr stopped working on my Firefox recently but I hadn't updated it; it now works after I updated Firefox.

I've updated Firefox - thank you, Nicholas - but I still can't get Flickr to work on it.

Flickr works fine on Chrome, much sharper and better than it worked on Firefox before the serious problems began.

The problem might be caused by how the Flash sourcecode lines of the Flickr pages are treated by your Firefox. It might also be that one of the plug-ins of your Firefox are not compatible with the data mash-up coming from Flickr.

You may want to browse the Tools\Options pages of your Firefox to see if you detect something looking strange, as well as the Tools\Plugins pages.

In any case there is a solution to make it work perfect on your computer for sure, as well as a solution for having Firefox displaying the Flickr photos as sharp as what Chrome does on your computer too.

I'm with "olifaunt" to think that the "use Chrome not Firefox" advice told by the Flickr team doesn't make sense and rather sounds like some free Chrome shill.

I use the (almost) oldest version of Windows (now told to be dangerous :D) and a now discontinued version of Firefox : Flickr works perfectly well on my old computer and the photos are plenty sharp on my screen (a Sony designed for studio work, not the average low-end cheap screen).

The problem might be that I don't understand computer speak.

Tools\Options page. What is that?

Tools\Plugins pages. I admit that I've never seen them. I don't know were they are.

Flash sourcecode. I didn't know that something with this name exists in our Christian world.

Plug-ins. What are they? I really don't know.

Data mash-up. That must be really disastrous.

Erik.

Flickr wouldn't open for me earlier this morning but seems ok now. I sympathize with Erik about Firefox because I also run into problems with it occasionally but don't really like the alternatives so put up with it.
