Anyone still shoot with their SLR's?

I just bought a Canon EOS ELAN 7NE and a nice piece of glass for it. The EF 100 2.8 USM Macro .... i'm stunned at how razor sharp my images are now. I still can't believe this isn't a "L" lens.

All the time, a Pentax K1000. I just got a Sigma 18mm ultrawide rectilinear and I'm having fun with it. 🙂

I have a Canon AE-1 Program, A1 and a F-1n along with a Pentax ME Super that I still use everyday. The A1 has a 500 f4 Canon lens and a 400 f5.6 Sigma. This is my wildlife rig. The F1n usually is my macro and landscape camera and the AE-1 usually has a 28 or a 50mm f 1.2 L on it.
The pentax is mostly for B&W with a 28mm or 50mm as it is small and unobtrusive for a SLR

Never stopped using my Nikon SLRs and in some ways appreciate them even more after using RFs.

My SLRs (including those pixel filled items) tend to get used when there is a specific shot I'm after, generally this will either be a still life set or a longer telephoto motor sports event. For potraites I find myself using an RF more and more with many less 'blinks' from the subject recorded with or without off camera flash. The 90 is great for head and shoulders and the 50 better for groups. A 75 would be ideal as well but currently I do not have one (maybe a new CV...?)

Otherwise my SLRs enjoy a long nap.

I use SLR frequently (Alpa and Rollei SL66) but find myself traveling more often with RF than I did before. The madness began when I started taking a Pelican case with gear on trips, then it became two, and finally two for carry-on and one to check. A couple years ago I was preparing the usual for a trip and at the last minute I said to hell with it: I went up in the attic and dug out an old small bag. Packed two Contaxes, one extra lens, a light meter, and a Super Ikonta and found I still had room to spare in the tiny little bag -- it was most pleasant not to be lugging a ton of gear around. I've never looked back since...

I'd say I shoot about 2/3 with RF and 1/3 with SLR.

I echo that - I'm shooting roughly 2/3 RF, 1/3 SLR too. My SLR gear is a couple of Contax bodies (139Q, RTS-III) with a few lenses (85mm f1.4, 50mm f1.4, 28mm f2.8 getting the most use at the moment). Also just bought a Tamron 350mm f5.6 mirror lens. Try mounting one of those to a rangefinder......

I got rid of all my SLRs a while ago, but I've since found (at last) something to replace them. So I have a Nikon FE on the way, which I use for music photography along with my Canon P.

Sometimes you just need something longer than 135mm 😉

I use my Dynax 9xi (Maxxum 9xi) now and then together with a Minolta AF 35-70 f4 or AF 70-210 f4 (all metal off course) . No professional lenses but they deliver nice quality.
Its a great camera and I bought it for almost nothing. This camera offers me more flexibility than my RFs (all fixed lenses), though it's less fun than taking one of my old RF's out.

Yes, hard to find time for all the cameras, but my most complete kits are in Minolta MD/MC/SR (7 bodies, large range from primes & zooms from 24mm to 400mm) and Canon EOS (1 film 2 dslr bodies, primes & zooms from 15mm to 500mm).

M42's, K-mount, Y/C, Contaflex and a Salyut medfmt are in there as well.

They all have their place.

About 90% of my stuff is RF and film, B&W or Velvia. For the last year anyway.

I'll take a rain check on the new SLR stuff for now, I have what I need on that front (yeh right). The new 5D is tempting, but at the end of the day it's no Leica.

I sold off my Nikon F100 and F80 plus all the lenses to go with them but still have a Centon K100 (Pentax clone) and my Pentax manual glass which I still love and sometimes use. I realised only the other day that I'm using RFs more and more these days, but there again my RF collection is growing almost every 2 or 3 weeks LOL

i shoot with a leica r9 and just digitized it with the dmr. very sharp both film and digital.

I still own some RF units, but lately I've been extremely dependent upon my Chinon CS and Minolta XE7. So, yes, shooting my SLRs a lot these days.
