It is what it is. I have no dealbreaker issues. In fact, one of the few things I did not like has been taken care of with the latest revs of the iOS app -which keeps getting better.
anyone think that flickr, kind of sucks?

I like flickr. Met some really talented contacts over there as well. I find Flickr & the new gallerie here at RFF the best for posting & viewing photos for me.

I'm not saying that making a photo blog site, or however you want to call it, is easy.
I just feel that it's annoyances get in the way of my "experience". Just a small rant. I'm not going to delete my account and declare myself as anti-flickr.
I was just wondering how others felt about it, that is all. Like I said, I feel that I have to do everything manually somehow.

Yes that is the one that bugs me. What you say is what Flickr fans tell me time and again.... However, I've seen pictures disappear and reappear again 😕you mean this?
The reason is, that the photo owner deleted the image. Only solution: flickr prohibits that photos are deleted. Don't think that will be accepted. Who's to blame? flickr or the person who linked the photo and then deleted it?
And why do they say "currently unavailable" when the picture is deleted? Who is responsible for that message? I would say Flickr......

At least they give you a message. They don't just evaporate into thin air leaving you wondering if you browser is broken like some sites do.

You will also get this image if a user has not renewed his pro account, and has reverted to the free account. Only his most recent 200 images will then be available for public viewing until he pays for the pro account once again. This message will also appear if he has replaced an image, and then the only course would be to manually re-edit any forum posts that the image was linked to. It is a good feature that Flickr provides this placeholder image for non-usable images, as it speeds up page loading on pages attempting to display such images.

I like flickr. Snapshots of family and friends, for family and friends, I edit quickly in Picasa and post directly to Picasa photo albums, but the rest of my stuff I post to flickr. Many of the groups are interesting and stimulating, and I've made contact with some fine photographers. Sure, I have nitpicks, but it beats any of the other photo sites I've tried.

I have a photo (nude) that Photobucket deletes as fast as I upload it yet no other site is concerned about it.
I'll post the link and not the image to keep the thread worksafe ... I have yet to figure out what it is about this that bothers them but from memory it's been deleted about five times and replaced by a message citing 'unsuitable content' or something similar! I still upload it occasionally just to see if they are awake! 😀

I haven't tried anything else, other than Blogger, so flickr suits me fine.

I'll second what Greg said. It feels like an organic extension of RFF and a great place to get connected to other photographers. Not to mention there's a lot of great and inspiring work there, just like here.

I suspect the issue is that you might need to flag it as having adult content. Working from memory ehre but I think there is a flag to indicate "unsafe" content.
The reason I say this is that I have stumbled upon the fact that there are Flickr groups dedicated to hard core porn. Which I am sure have images far more explicit than any you might post.
(I have not seen your image but believe me I have seen some images on these groups and they are more than raunchy!) If they don't delete those images / groups I cannot see why they should delete yours.
Fortunately I am hard to offend so this stuff never bothers me - quite the opposite usually - within appropriate boundaries, but I guess they need to take care that more easily offended souls do not stumble on anything involving naked flesh.
