Just wondering. How is the handling? Its about as wide as a Rollei 35 which I liked a lot. How is the EVF, compare to the optical finder on the older fixed lens RFs? Manual focus friendly? And any funk business with the electronic shutter under artificial lighting?

Love, love, love it! I own gm5 with grip, kit lens..and the 30mm 60mm sigma art series lenses. Just back from trip to florida. Great dynamic range. Awesome size for travel (6d stayed home) i had th lx5 and gave to daughter and took gamble on this one..and hit the jackpot. For me, i shoot much closer to rangefinder style...the evf helping me to frame and fire. Good high iso handling...files handle well is post. Rendering of image relating to smooth contrast is very appealing to me. Am keeping more images in color than b&w's which was primary consideration initially...so allowing me to explore/ express without compromise. Just simplify the display settings, give it shutter priority ( as opposed to focus lock) and enjoy the ride. The little flash is manually adjustable too!

Glad to hear you are really enjoying the GM5. I had a serious case of GAS on the GM5, and finally bit the bullet and bought one just a few days ago. I have been using Sony Nex for digital for many years now, while a friend had the GF1. I was always envious of him for the soft shutter feel on the Panny, and the way that 20mm pancake lens renders. The GM5 mechanical shutter feels 10 times better than the GF1 albeit 1/500 sec tops. This thing is begging for pancake lens although I have not ordered the 20mm yet, (still hoping that they will release a third version with better AF speed). I am waiting now for my Leica M adapter, so that I can slap on my MS-Optical 24mm, and really turn it into a daytime pocket street camera. Pretty impressed withe little flash as well on the manual setting, very cool!
