really tempted to get one of these lenses....anyone try one ? The nikon rf mount one is in a rigid mount. Since the collapsible mount 50/3.5 Heliar scored so well - this one may even be better..anyone ?
If I do not win the Canon P up on Auction, an R2s with the Heliar is very tempting. If you want the lens, might as well get the combo and sell the body.
I've owned it a short time so do not have many images to show. Remember that there are no click stops on the diaphragm ring, which turns very freely. You need to use the focusing wheel to focus, otherwise you risk change the f/ stop.
I will try to post an scenic image (at infinity ) which I took today with it. This was taken wide open.
the Voigtlander 50/3.5 in Nikon RF mount has the same optics as the Voigtlander 50/3.5 in the Leica mount Heliar 101 set, even the same lens hood and lens cap. it is adaptable to the Leica M if you have the rare Orion adapters, or of one of the various lesser quality knock off Orion copy adapters.
Stephen, is there any hope that Mr. K will do another run of the Leica mount version of the 50mm Heliar? I really wanted one, but I didn't need another M-mount body enough to go for it. I'm tempted by the Leica Elmar, but I wish I had the Heliar competing for my attention. Any chance at all?
I have the 50mm Heliar on a Bessa T 101 and I really can't say I'm impressed with it. I have posted a couple of photos i took in Manhattan, see for yourself.
IME, it's hard to *really* impressed w/any slow lens like the 50/3.5 Heliar or the Leica 50/2.8 Elmar, as it's kind of difficult to make a bad 50mm lens @ those speeds.
