Anyone use a Summitar?

I just had a look at some Summitars on evilbay. $300 up... Are the sellers dreaming or have they gotten that high in the last year??
I remember a few months ago $100-150 would buy a good example.

As soon as a week of 8 hour shifts in a warehouse hit my bank (roughly £200) it's straight back out purchasing camera equipment. That is, WHEN I have work. last week I had 2 days work (and the £80 went to paying off my £100 bank debt), and this week I haven't had a single days pay.

If I was working 8 hour shifts every weekday through september til christmas, as originally planned, I'd have my nice Leica's and Contaxes all with CLA's and a set of lenses, and nice presents for the family. As it is, I've had the total of less than 4 weeks work. :bang:

I'm pretty much there now. I paid off all of my debts and retired a few weeks ago. I now have more money to spend on my gear which was not the case for years.

As I understand it, as soon as I need to pay for living expenses (accomodation. food. etc) I wont have ANY money for camera gear. I'll be spending every penny I can on good camera/darkroom/studio gear until then 😀
