Anyone used a DR Summicron on the R3A/R2A ?

i think someone on pn has used the same combo.

Hmm.. I should do a pnet search for it. Someone here recommended it to me but before I "dive in" I want to verify/check a few things out first.

Thanks
Dave

It should work, why not? It is not a collapsible, just a regular M mount.
You have the DR and are thinking of a 2nd camera besides a Leica M I guess. Otherwise, Why a DR?

Rob.

Hey Rob,

No actually.
I've been considering a 50mm and before I try a Nokton I thought the DR (that I can get used at a "reasonable" price) may be worth a try instead on my R3A.

A 2nd body would be nice but I don't want to go "too overboard" with the rangefinders 😀

Trying not to get GAS,
Dave 😀

Epson states that it will not work on the RD-1; and Stephen Gandy states that it will not work on the R2.

Go with the type I rigid Summicron. It has the identical optical formula and it will work. The Dual-Range simply extends the focus helical, but it did not change the optical prescription at all.

Anyone who sold a Summicron for $10 does not deserve to own any camera equipment.

Thanks for the info Brian - I didn't search Stephen's site enough regarding it. I will look at a rigid Summicron instead. That'll save me the trouble of perhaps getting a lens that just won't work properly on my R3A.

BTW, does anyone know if Stephen works on Saturdays? I've sent an email, received one reply, but heard nothing since regarding an order 😀

Cheers
Dave

Of course I meant to type "Rigid Summicron". The limited edition "Regis Summicron" given away on "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" should also work.

Once the Benedryl wears off, my head will start to work.

heheh 😀

I've heard that the Regis Summicron can get really annoying if you don't put the lens cap on it 😀
