anyone using a 12 on the rd1?

I use to have one for my rd1, and it was a really neat lens. I had bought it for a client's summer long project, and when that project ended I couldn't justify keeping it. Sean Reid, in his review shows that it vignettes much less than the 15mm. The finder was oh so very bright--much brighter than reality.

I use to have it on my RD-1 and it was great. I confirm that it vignettes a lot less than the 15mm on the RD-1.

It is a great lens but it was too slow for me.

Quite a fun lens. I have some images on R-D1 and film.

I have one because it came with my second hand R-D1 even though I hadn't planned on buying one. I am still struggling with it, but find it very much fun.

At first, I was bit irritated at the fact that the lens is not coupled to the range finder. However, this turned out to be a non-issue.

Here are some samples: For the first one I didn't bother to use the viewfinder.

The second one took place in some really ghastly lighting conditions. You can see what the lens does with fine details outlined against the bright windows.

The third one shows some noticeable distortions.

All three are uncropped images, just re-scaled. In the middle one I adjusted the brightess a tiny bit.

Got the 12 and it is mounted on my R-D1 pretty much all the time now. I just love it, feels like the 15 on my film camera. With the R-D1's good high iso I can take some night shots with not much difficult, amazing for f5.6!

great detail
