Anyone using a RRS tripod plate?

Thanks for the reference. Hmm, that site doesn't come up in either Firefox or IE. Somethig's going on there.

Is it the Kirk? Kirk has another Arcaswiss adapter, here:

But if you contrast it with the RRS plate above, you'll see the aux 1/4" tripod screw socket is not centered on the camera. It makes sense because RRS needed another stile to maintain rigidity when moving the screw socket towards the center.

The Clearsight web site looks like it has a fundamental database error, I suppose it will get fixed tomorrow.

My adapter is the same design as the RRS with the screw socket in the middle of the Leica body, but its style (in the way the piece is finished) is very similar to the Kirk. The RRS is clunky looking but the Kirk one has a shallower design like mine that doesn't alter the feel of the camera body too much.

I have mine because I have an Arca/Swiss QR clamp on my ballhead, but it also helps with the tiny Slik ballhead I have on my tabletop tripod.

I would definitely get one with the socket screw placed at the center of the camera. See if the Clearsight site comes up tomorrow. If it doesn't write to joecodi(AT)clearsightusa(DOT)com. Joe is the owner of Clearsight - I think he has the best adapter.

Thanks man!
Now if they only made these in chrome :D

Nah they look OK in black. They work well thats what counts... ;) Attached is a (rather poor) pic of mine but you can see how shallow it is.
