As you may (or may not) know, Japan Exposures sell Carl Zeiss Contax G lenses converted to Leica M mount by MS Optical. (Alternatively, they offer to modify the lenses you already own.) These lenses have a fabulous reputation (as most Zeiss glass) on film. Sadly, unmodified they can only be used on Contax G bodies.

I wonder if anyone actually uses one (or more) of the Zeiss G lenses on his M8(.2)/9 or R-D1(s/x/xg)? If so, what are your experiences? Do you have pictures to share?

I'm just asking out of curiosity, I don't actually consider buying one :)

I know you can't use the Contax G 28/2.8 on mFT bodies without a minor modification. Not sure about the NEX cameras.

I have the 28/2.8 converted to M by MS Optical. I've briefly used it on a GH2. Finest 28 I've ever used--and I have the R 28/2.8 v2 in F mount. I'm still waiting for my ala carte M7, so I'm only able to use it on a M3. In fact, I have it mounted and ready to go out shooting.

Sorry, no M8/9 or RD1
