I was googling "raw file viewers" or some such this afternoon and came across this site: http://www.dpmagic.com
The program promised to support the raw files of 150 cameras, including the R-D1, and allow the Windows Explorer to open thumbnails of raw files, as well as large images, and also mount a slide show. Cost was $9.95, so I bit. Darned if it didn't perform as advertised, a big help. I searched this and other forums before posting, and cannot find any reference to the program.

I installed it, and it promptly blew up whenever I tried to preview / open an Epson RAW image with it. I didn't reboot, but since the thing is hooked into Explorer, I just un-installed it so it wouldn't screw up my shell interface.
I have XP sp2.

Ken,
After reading your email, I went back and tried all 3 of my Raw converters. I too have XP sp2. I have the PSCS Epson converter, and then EPR and RSE as separate programs, not as plug-ins. Only the RSE blows up the image--the other two don't--and I corrected it is RSE by unchecking "Automatically open with" in the Batch Convert options.
So far I find it really helpful.
