anyone want to hear my talk, see my exhibit at Univ. of Mississippi ?

Anyone in the area is invited to hear my talk Wednesday Jan 21 at noon at the University of Mississippi / Center for Study of Southern Culture. My exhibit will be up in the Gammill Gallery through March. There are 24 prints in the exhibit. The work is from my South Apopka series. It was a 2+ year effort documenting the people of a small historic community of black people close to where I live in Florida.

I can recommend Oxford Mississippi as a very interesting place to visit if you are anywhere around. It is the cultural capital of Mississippi by a long ways. And the Center for Study of Southern Culture there does some very good work. And there are a few excellent documentary photographers there.

Blake (a/k/a "Memphis"): I will be just passing through the Memphis airport, getting a rental car and heading down to Oxford. So no time to get together this visit. But I will catch you again the next time.

Bob, I wish I could be there!!! I just went through your South Apopka gallery and found it both amazing and beautiful. I am new at street/documentary, but am really gaining a passion for it. And your kind of work is very much like what I am aspiring to. Your web site is now in my favorites.

Very impressing and sensitive pictures of the Cuban life. They look quite different than what we see on TV or in the newspapers. I admire your courage to take photos like these.
