I am the proud new owner of a Zeiss Ikon with 35mm f2 Biogon and await my first the results of my roll of film which should come tomorrow.

My question is how the camera chooses shutter speed in A Mode. Is it to the nearest stop, to the nearest 1/3 of a stop or is it continually variable (like on some Nikon F's)?

Also, what is the weighting of the meter? Hopefully 80/20 or higher?

The viewfinder display is really neat how it shows you how much over/under exposed you are in manual mode. I think I am going to use this more than my other cameras.

Thanks

1/2 stop resolution in AE, but display only shows 1 stop jumps.

The center-wighted pattern is not symmetrical. I don't know the ratio, but it's skewed to the left, so take care to hold the camera the traditional way when shooting verticals: shutter side up.

That's very interesting. My money was on 1/3rds as the exposure compensation is in 1/3 stops.

Thanks for the advice.
