Ever since using a 40 cron 40mm has been the focal length I want to use.
I've been using a d800 for a few years now and simply don't want to mount my 50 ever anymore so my 28 has been mounted pretty much permanently.
Anyway I finally have some money to get a 40 and it seems like my only realistic option is the CV 40.
I've read that using the CV40 on a d800 I will not be able to control aperture with the ring and will have to use the sub command dial.
Can anyone confirm whether there is a way I can use the CV40 Ultron SLII's aperture ring on a d800?
Thanks so much!

All SLII lenses are chipped, so with these lenses you can only control the aperture on a DLSR by fully stopping down the aperture ring on the lens and then using the sub command wheel. You'll get an error if the aperture ring on the lens is not set to the minimum aperture.
If you really want to control the aperture on a D800 using the aperture ring on the lens, you could get the 40mm SLII predecessor - the long discontinued un-chipped 40mm Ultron SL (this lens).
