apple's magic mouse?

Now, if you want to talk about KEYBOARDS, there is everything else, and then there is my keyboard: The Das Keyboard Model S for Mac. I wish there were a black magic mouse to go along with it.

Awesome, I didn't realize they had a mac version now. I've used their keyboards for years, they're awesome. Nothing better out there.

If you ever typed on an IBM Selectric, which was always the ne plus ultra of typing hardware, then Das Kayboard is waiting for your money.

Apple just make crap keyboards these days. I agree the DAS is very good but ended up going with the Matias TactilePro 3 for mine. Love mechanical keys and the tactile feedback makes typing very fast.

Personally, the Magic Mouse is a pain; primarily because its velocity sensitive. I hate the distance it travels on the screen relative to how far the mouse moves being a function of speed. I only have one to travel with my Macbook Air I use for business trips, and even then, only when I need to build powerpoint chart decks. At home I ditched the mouse for a trackpad, which I find fantastic

Or, there are the original IBM Model M keyboards, like the ones I have used for the last 28 years. That is the one Das Keyboard attempts to emulate. Of course the original IBM keyboards weigh almost as much as a modern day compact laptop and certainly are not cheap these days.

magicprefs made the magic mouse usable for me. i started out thinking i'd really like it, then after two days i thought i'd never use it. then i got magicprefs and it's growing on me. it's not perfect, but i've decided i reallly like it.

I love the functionality of the magic mouse, but hate it's form. For the life of me, I cannot find a way to make using it comfortable.

Mine eats batteries...now I use my good eneloops on my mouse. It still seems to burn through them pretty quickly. Although I ignore the low battery warning until they flat out die.

Also funky if orientation isn't right with the screen.

Mm

Mm

My mm has worked fine since I got nearly 2 years ago. I put fresh batteries in it every 6-9 months. It seems to go to sleep when not in use; I never bother with turning it off either. Love the gestures.
Occasionally I think of getting one for my wife's iMac. As others have noted the little ball on the mighty mouse only works sporadically I'll try the cleaning method suggested here.

I don't remember what the warranty period is on them, but it might be worth a visit to your apple store to see if it is defective. They've been good about replacing products during the warranty period.
Unfortunately, I use my computer way too much...

I use a magic mouse at work. It's ok, but nothing special IMO. Ours eat batteries too. We generally have to change them every couple months.

At home I use a Logitech wireless mouse with my mac, and I think I prefer it. Mostly for the shape of it, but I also like the mechanical scroll wheel.

I like the Magic Mouse and use one at work all day. I did like it's predecessor with the tiny scroll wheel which I use sometimes at home with my MacBook but it seems not to work so well now and I have reverted to a simpler wired mouse.

Nooo. i use one of these at work, and those little scroll wheels don't work half the time, the magic mouse is great, except for the batteries part.
