I don't know if they publish in america but over ere' we've a travel magazine entitled 'wanderlust' that I read regularly and have been somewhat inspired by.

It's my summer holiday now and I want to do something productive so am going to attempt to apply to them for a couple of weeks work experience in order to perhaps get my foot in the door.

I'm an English student about to enter my third and final year and expect to get a first-yes yes my bottom is going to truly have to be worked off in the coming year.

I am also working on my photography and it's coming along in some areas.

Point being I want to make a really truly sparkling application as I know they must be inundated with requests so was wondering if anyone could suggest how i ought to go about it?? other than the obvious in making sure I personally address the recipient of my cover letter and so forth....

oh the website for this particular publication is :

Sorry, this is probably rather unhelpful but I’ll tell you my position;

I’m at a point where I’m wondering if I should put the energy into trying to get a position as a assistant/intern/slave in the London photography business. I know the odds are stacked majorly against me, being basically a nobody; albeit a nobody with skills and hopefully talent. I’ve had plenty of advice and encouragement from Pros that it is possible with loads and loads of persistence but in a city awash with photography grads that seems unlikely, I think I’ll just keep shooting my own stuff for now!

Hopefully with your background you stand a rather good chance of getting this position! Wanderlust is a great mag! Good Luck!!
