Are the R2/3/4M cameras back in production?

I ask because I notice that B&H have all of them in stock, new, for sale.

Stephen also has them in stock. I thought they were discontinued a couple of years ago?

Cosina is now delivering the last of the R3M & R4M back orders before the 35mm Bessas were discontinued.

Once they are gone, they are gone.

All other new Bessa bodies are new old stock.

Sounds like a good time to act if someone was thinking of getting one. Bessa bodies value seems pretty stable to going up. I know the price of a used L has gone up faster than inflation has when new ones were in stock.

Never had or bought one but I can tell you that I spoke directly to the only official Voigtlander dealer in the country where I live on this subject two weeks ago and he said that official production has now stopped on these bodies but that he gets the odd one or two still come through in dribs and drabs from them now and then, I guess the last of the last from factory stock. If you wanted a new one, I guess this is last orders at the bar time.

I'm just wondering whether Cosina now manufacture cameras at all or are they, like Zeiss, just producing lenses? It would be a shame if they totally dropped camera production.

I've been looking for a used R4A for a while now as my Bessa-R finally became unreliable. Looks like I should just get the R4M instead. Hopefully Stephen has stock for another week as I'm waiting to get paid!

Cosina is a manufacturing facility. They make both Voigtlander and almost all of the Zeiss lenses.
