Leica S2 is $23,000 S2 pro model $28,000 What does this pro model offer the other does not . This is a long way from the target $15,000 that was initially suggested.
Check out the lens pricing too if you have the stomach.
For the princely sum of $27,500 you can get the stripped down verion of the camera and the cheapest lens. Pony up $1200 extra for the grip.
All I wanted was a full frame rangefinder and/or an R10. I guess buying into Nikon a few years back while waiting was not such a bad move. By the time I have saved enough to buy this, I`ll be too old and feble to use it.
Notice there is a new buzz word in Solms now. Instead of camera, they call everything a "solution". The EVF sub for the R10 was a solution. Now this is a solution. Guy is a corporate mouthpiece.
Anyway this thing is not camera I would carry on a travel or even to a familc picnic. Furthermore if I were a pro, this is not a choice I would make. Definately not recommended for seedy neighborhoods either.
What was the website where I can get the nikon mounts for Leica R?

It's a studio camera though isn't it? What kind of press hack needs something like this.

That's two nice cars for me and my family. The glass must rock but I am hard pressed to say the other MF glass (e.g. 'Blads) is that bad.
I doubt there are any of these being sold to anything but pros and while price is an issue, if the folks paying the bills say they want this resolution, depth and all, you gotta give it to them. I think Leica should be marketing to the ADs telling them how much better they are and create the push from that end.

The target is not us poor hackers. These are professional tools which will be used for years and written off as operating expenses. The prices are more-or-less in line with the rest of the market.

Yes, Right There
I have to agree with MartinP. Anyone who is in the market for a camera in the S2's price range is probably driving a company purchased BMW and is carrying the corporate charge card

I met a man once...
apparently the prices aren't as upsetting as you may think. my local photo store manager has already had 2 down payments on these s2's, which he felt the need to mention to me since he's never sold a single leica product in that store before.
