Matsuiyastore has not had a new Konica 35mm UC-Hexanon listed since Thanksgiving. Do you suppose the well ran dry?

My M5s need red dots!
I saw one for sale... but can't recall where. I think it was on eBay: a Hexanon 35 identic to mine.
But I can't recall if it was Matsuiyastore's.
Are you looking for one of their tri-focals? There's one for sale in the bay too.

Shaken, so blurred
Well (as it were) if they only made 1,000 of them, and as we've collectively accounted for a good percentage of that, the well had to run dry some time or, at the very least, suffer some kind of reduction in flow.venchka said:Matsuiyastore has not had a new Konica 35mm UC-Hexanon listed since Thanksgiving. As much as I like Hexanon lenses, as well as some photos I have seen from Hex UC, I really don't see me getting one. Reason - same as many other lenses - I hate that focusing tab! Just can't stand it. I'm so glad that Hex 28 doesn't have it. This made me turn away from many good lenses, but I'm glad I found enough of the ones I like without the tab. Personal thing I suppose, but that's how I am....

OK, I see the method to their madness. 24 hours ago they had a 35mm M-Hexanon listed. The auction must have ended for it. The 35 UC-Hexanon was listed overnight. The price has crept up by $20.
The 35 UC-Hexanon lens is my first experience with a tab. I find it PERFECT! To each his own I reckon.

Yeah, I often don't care much for focusing tabs. But I do like it on the UC Hex. I'm really surprised that all of these lenses haven't all been scooped up. I'm really just getting to know mine. But so far, so good.

I use the Hexanon 28 partially for the same reason, I don't like the tabs at all. However, I have come across one I quite like, and that's on a Leica 35/1.4 ASPH. It's actually fairly comfortable to use, and I think it has something to do with the large (ish) diameter of the lens. I don't like the one on the UC M-Hexanon nearly as much.Krosya said:As much as I like Hexanon lenses, as well as some photos I have seen from Hex UC, I really don't see me getting one. Greetings, RFF people. First post after, lurking here for a while.
I've recently been reviving and feeding my rangefinder/film habit with too much spending, after four years of being exclusively digital. I was torn between the M and UC versions of the 35mm Hexanon after reading about them here (I already have the 50mm Hex-M, which is fantastic). Almost bid on this 35 M, but decided to wait for a UC. It took all of six hours to show up. It's on it's way to me right now. But I'm distraught to discover I've overpaid by $20.
In case anyone's interested, there's a live auction for another Hex-M 35 here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260191844783

I bought the first UC Hexanon at the $890 price last week. Serial number 0645/1000.
Have been using it on Hexar, Canon P & Yashica YF. I see that there is one availble yet so there seems to be an endless supply. It's hard to believe that a limited edition would not sell out. Why only one source? No complaint however as I think that I got my monies worth.

I generally see most of the numbers are in the 6xx range. Perhaps he still has the rest until 1000.
Everytime someone buys it, a new keeps popping up: http://cgi.ebay.com/Konica-UC-HEXANON-35mm-f-2-Black-Leica-L-mount_W0QQitemZ160201072287QQihZ006QQcategoryZ30039QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQtrksidZp1638.m118.l1247QQcmdZViewItem
My assumption is that at the time the Hexanon lenes were released, it was close to the prices of the Leica, so my guess is that people simply bought the Leica over the Hexanon and then it got sold to Minolta.
