+1 to this. I joined in 2006 when I was new to rangefinders and interested building a kit I liked. Now I've got that kit (probably more kit than I need, but that's another story), and I find I'm not visiting as often or posting as much. I'm not all that fascinated by the latest digital cameras, and as discussion of these cameras has grown at RFF I visit less often. I prefer the threads discussing photography with older rangefinder cameras and the photos taken with them (e.g. the W/NW threads). I rely on other sites to display my photos. But I still come around and appreciate what the Head Bartender has done to keep the site going.

Yes, I used to live there. Been in SE Michigan for a good while now. Hand should be fine, just takes time. I'm old now, don't heal fast anymore.
 
I remembered that when I joined, I didn't start a "Hi, I'm new member here....." thread. I just jumped right in.

Absolutely, I don't want the digital world at all, but I feel compelled to put one foot in there (m43 in my case) for practical reasons. Working far too many hours to process all the film that I would otherwise be shooting; developing it professionally here is out of the question because of cost. So I have an Olympus Pen as well as my RF film cameras. I come here to read about rangefinder gear and FILM. But I am worried that film is on its way out as I notice fewer and fewer people like Bingley and more and more "I used to shot film but no longer" types. Cosina-Voigtlander's decision to drop manufacturing film cameras has shaken me a bit.
 
Well, though I am a bit late, I thought I had better post now since Keith whistled up the sheilas! I am hoping this woman from NY qualifies as a sheila. Since I consider myself to be quite out of my league among so many gifted photographers here I am proud that everyone has been so kindly welcoming since I joined - and! - I am absolutely delighted that the talented Helen Hill included me on her short list of women RFF members. Thank you HH.

I joined up a few days ago after getting my first RF - a well used M6. I've been shooting generally on DSLRs for a while, and wanted to give both film and RF a go. Two rolls in so far and I look forward to mining all of the gold (or silver as it may be) in the forums and learning from you all. Cheers :)

Welcome to all these new folks, and I'd like to second HH's comment that more women on the site would be great. We're pretty white and male here—it'd be nice to mix things up a little. (hey there, Shirley!)
