I have a Canon 1DMk2 and a harem of L glass. I am waiting to see what Canon does to replace the 5D or I may jump ship and get a Nikon D300 which would suit me just as well and get me 50% more pixels.

qu'est-ce que c'est?
Also a canon shooter, but with nikon envy. I feel some guilt about the disloyalty.

they are seldom used now - the FT3 is built like a tank and is still favoured over the FA for all its shooting and metering modes

All my SLR's are film - tried to like digital, but my whole picture-making thought process revolves around film, so gave up the effort. Since I collect and use old film SLR's, I have Nikon, Pentax, and Canon. No AF or motor drives (some meters don't even work), just the basic stuff that I'm most comfortable with. Currently using Pentax and P-type screw mount bodies with 28, 35, 50 or 55, and 70-210 glass, plus my always-in-the-bag Gosen Luna-6 Pro meter. Use CN film (usually 400 speed) and have it processed and burned to a CD, which I print from at home. Makes beautiful b&w's in PhotoShop!

I have used a canon AE-1 all through college. I have the 50 f1.8, 100 f4 macro, and 28 f2.8...all good cheap performers. I have considered a nikon, but I figure I'll stick with the FD mount. I've heard the old F1 is comparable to nikon build quality.

Well-known
Canon digital SLRs. For film I slightly prefer Canon, but I use all sorts. Oddly enough I do not, however, own a single Nikon. Not on purpose, just haven't fallen into one yet.

I started with Minolta (XG-1 and X-700) in the early 1980:s, then changed to Canon when the first EOS arrived in the late 80:s. Since 1991 I have been faithful to my Nikon FM2n.

Contax and Leica. I loved the Nikon FTn and the Canon F1, but never owned them.

Nikon and Hasselblad in my case. Why people often neglect to classify medium format bodies as SLR's mystifies me.
I've since added an R6 to my stable. Why? The lenses! the lenses!

I'm a long term Pentax man - I've got a K10D and an *istDS for digital, and Z1p, Z50p, MZ5, MZ50, P30t & ME-F for film.
