Apart from the RFs, which we all love, I guess many use or have used SLRs. I have shot Canons since my first EF back in the early seventies and still shoot Canon today (20D).

I use an old Nikon F outfit and I also have Eos (both film and digital). I sometime use my Nikkors on an Eos body. What can I say? I'm just a tart...

Digi wise, I was Canon now Nikon now going back to Canon :)
Film wise Oly OM1 beat the hell outta everthing else ever made apart from possibily the FM2n/T.

Shoot Canon now - 20D. Love the high iso ability and CMOS sensor.

FILM - Used to shoot and Olympus OM1 and am now waiting for my first OM2 from ebay. Should be here tomorrow. Been wanting one of those since the early 80's. Love the look, build and feel - Timeless. Industrial art at its best.

I am a Canon man, I even live on Cannon Drive. I am saving up for a DSLR right now. Barring some big break through I will buy a DRebel or 30D ish camera. That Pentax K10D sure looks nice too, who knows. I don't have a huge lens investment, so, who knows.

Nikon.

F70 and F4s - used to have a Nikkormat FT3 and an FG20 as well.

I also used to have a lot of zooms... 35-80, 18-35, 28-70, 75-300. They are sold or for sale now, I'm down to a 24/2.8, 50/1.2 and 85/2 - a perfect kit for me.

Looking to buy a D70(s) (hint, hint).

My ideal but unaffordable kit would be two eos 5D's, a 24/1.4, 35/1.4 and 85/1.2... not that I think canon are ahead of nikon, it's just that specifically for the things I shoot and the way I like to shoot, this kit would suit me a bit better than the current Nikon offerings... But it flips back and forth all the time. And at any rate... I'm not too concerned about gear. Almost anything takes good pictures nowadays.

My very first camera was a Nikon F401, some twenty years ago. I have since used a Canon EOS 1000, Pentax KX, and lately Nikon FM3A. Every time I changed camera I also changed lenses (usually three basic primes). I have no brand loyalty when it comes to SLR's. I finally went for Nikon because I like the bodies they make (I prefer manual from automatic) and the possibility to combine them with Zeiss glass.

First cameras I shot with were a Praktica, an MTL I think it was, and a Canonet QL17. Both as a kid, they were my Dad's cameras.
He later got an A1, which was really nice.

I bought a secondhand T90 around 1990. It was going cheap as one of the lads at working was going through a divorce and he needed cash quick. A friend now has it on long term loan from me.

But frankly I didn't really start to get serious about taking pictures till late 2001.

In 2001 I bought an EOS30. Auto-focus, wow! I could now get nearly all my snaps in focus.

A year later I bought an EOS33 as a secondbody, it lasted about 2 years before giving up the ghost and was in turn replaced by a EOS30V. The 30's are great wee cameras.

8mnths ago I bought a 5D.

And at the moment I'm fretting about buying a Bessa R2a with an Ultron f1.7, which is why I'm hanging around this forum!

Canon. First real camera was an FTbN, followed by an AE-1 Program. Currently use a 20D. Pondering a 5D, but for the way I use photos (no huge prints) I cannot justify the expense for the extra resolution. Still might be fun, though.

My first SLR was an OM1n. I still have it. I just added a super wide zoom for it a few weeks ago. The rest are Nikons. I don't really know why, I just liked them. Now with a large selection of lenses I guess that is where I will stay. I am backing off of the digital race for now until it settles down a little.

Canon.

Bought my first camera about 20 years ago for a trip to the UK: a Canon Snappy (I think...) not quite your EOS 1 but that held me for quite a number of years. Had a bit of hiatus and then coughed up the cash (very poor at the time) for a Rebel 2000. Had LOTS of fun with that and then just in June coughed up more cash (a little less poor now) for a used EOS 3 with PB-E1. Absolutely loving it!! The snappy is long gone but I still remember it, had the red one. One of my last memories of it was how loud it was.

My first was a Yashica, 1969, followed by my favorite of all time, Fujica ST701 in black. Alas it was stolen after 15 years of use. Replaced with Pentax K1000, stolen and now Minolta X370 and the Minolta system has grown to include a X700, QTsi, Maxxum 4. I really like the ergonomics of the Minoltas. Small almost like the Olympus. Forgot, recently inherited a Canon AE-1, nice camera but a bit awkward compare to the Minoltas, maybe just lack of familiarity.

Formerly an Olympus OM-1 shooter but sold/traded all my Oly gear last year for Nikon. Now shoot Nikon F3HP and FM2n and have several AI and AIS Nikkor primes.

Canon. Started with an AE-1 that got sold in moment of foolishness. Still have my FTb-N & T-90 right now.
