My first SLR was a Canon EOS 10s (European Camera of the Year in 90/91) with a remote control. Purchased with a 35-135 USM lens (Paid about $800 USD from B&H) (I still have it and is in really great shape)

Moving forward - 2004 - Nikon F3HP / MD4. with the following lenes:
24/F2.8, 28/F2.8, 85/F1.4; all purchased from the @bay!

2006 - I use my F3HP without the MD4, (too heavy) and shoot mostly in
'A' mode - Aperture Priority!!

I think a one of those Electro 35's that some of you have would be a good camera to get next!

Cheers

NIKON User

I am a Nikon user, for over 20 years--and, still a Nikon fan to this day...

I own and still use F2A, F3HP, F4 and FM2T. These cameras are built to last. Lenses from 24mm to 300mm. I find joy in using Nikon bodies equally as Leica rangefinders.

The market for Nikon film cameras has fallen, but not its utility and versatility. Wishing for an F5 for Christmas.:)

Starter with a Nikon EM, then Canon F1n (which I should have kept), back to Nikon 8008s, N90s, D70, D2h, D2x, Oly E-1, D200. Of these I still have the D2x, Oly E-1, and a couple of Leica point and shoots. Seriously considering selling the Nikon to fund an M7 starter kit.

My first SLR was a Komaflex 128 4x4 with fixed lens. I loved it, but I was in high school, it was 1962, and it was far too cool.

I have had Miranda, Canon (QL-II), Bronica (still have my S2), Olympus, Nikkormat, and Nikon D70 and D200.

I really love the Bronica even though it will set of seismographs hundreds of miles away with each shutter click.

Minolta 2xi and then a 450si when I was in school. Konica-Minolta 5D (died two months after buying it), and a Nikon D70s on the digital side. A 1951 Ihagee Exa and a Pentax ME are my current film SLRs.

Well it depends...

Well it depends...

Back in the 70's, I had a Canon FTb QL. then for HS Grad. I received a New Canon F1 with 50/1.4 (1972). in the late 70's I bought a Nikon FM. In the 80's I have owned an OM 2 and 4. then a Canon EOS 630 and Nikon FE (my dad gave me the FE after he bought a Nikon 8008). then by the late 90's I had a my first P/S Digatal. A 2mp Fuji 2800.

Then I upgraded to a Oly 5050, and now I own and use:

 Canon D60 DSLR. 50/1.8, 28-105/3.5-4.5, 70-300/4.5-5.6
 Canon EOS 1 Film.

 Black later model Nikkormat FTn in E++ condition with a later model 50/2 Nikkor. Which will be a user also. I have non-user Nikon FTN (IE.. all working but meter head..just to bulky. That is why I got the Nikkormat. I do have 50/1.4 Nikkor S with this one..Older version Chrome/Black

 Kiev 4a. 35/2.8, 50/2, 85/2 UVF 35-135

:) So I guess I am a Canon (AF) and Nikon (MF) SLR shooter.

BTW, I have a freind who has some Rabit-Ear Nikkors that he will sell me cheap. He mentioned a 70-200 F/4. I hope he has a 105/2.5 and a 35/2.8 or F/2. That would make a nice MF Nikon kit: 50/2 & 1.4, 35/2.8, 105/2,5, 70-200/4

My wife is going to cut my B***s off, if she knew how much I have spent these last 2 months on GAS purchases. (a few hundred $$, she thinks it is less ;) )

I've only ever used a Visoflex, which I guess is now my dSLR too.:) I'd love to try a real slr though, but it's so tough to choose.

Nikons only. Back in the late 70's (you know, when the world was flat), I picked up an F2 and a Canon F-1 and compared them. I liked the way the Nikon felt and the fact that I could operate it without looking, and bought one. Haven't looked back since.

A friend of mine is a Canon user and I picked up his EOS-3 the other day and didn't know up from down. I'll stick with my F100 and D200. And my M6 :)

I have used Canon F1 since they came out in 72, I think it was. I still have an F1 and now a Canon 300D which is a good camera but I don't like digital I guess because I detest PS mostly. I try to shoot so I can convert from RAW to JPG and print with no manipulation. I also have a Zenit 3 (Russian) and an EXA, neither of which I've shot yet. The EXA only has a waist level finder and I am looking for an eye level.

I also have a Kiev 88CC which is now back in Russia for shutter repair and CLA, been a long time since I shot MF, should be interesting. I have meter prism for the 88 although I don't like meters in camera. I removed the batteries and I carry my trusty old Gossen Luna Pro which I bought in '73. Still accurate, too.
