I started with my dad's Yashica TL electro ITS (black) he's still got it! bought a K1000 when at school in 76 then an AE1(great camera) but switched to Nikon when AE1program let me down. F90X(superb viewfinder) and added a D70(terrible finder) great picture machine. Now using a Leica R4 and R8(best and brightest slr viewfinder IMO).
I'm finding that my M6 gets the most use though!:)
I am surprised that more don't use R lenses here though as they are great value S/H.

I started with a Nikon FM2n, then an FM, then an F2 photomic and now an F2A. Love them all !
I would like to try a FED 2 next.

"Nikon" my dad told me.... from the moment I could speak I guess.

At the moment:

F2A (mostly used last month)
F100
D70
D80

Rangefinders are Canon and Yashica, at the moment there is no money to play with the big boys in Rangefinder-land.

Olympus OM, Minolta, Konica-Minolta, Leica R, Contax, Yashica, Pentax, and Canon. Never a Nikon.

The Maxxum/Dynax/Alpha 7 is one of the best last gen AF Film SLRs IMO. It doens't get enough love:(

The first Slr I had was a Cosina CSM a basic m42 one and I used this for a few years till it was stolen. I worked on a trawler in the deep North See to buy my next one a Canon AE1P I used that and other FD gear, I even got up to an F1! for ten years, Till yet again it was stolen. I spent most of the 90's using pentax gear till my divorse my ex wife sold it and I became homeless. I eventually got some Eos Dgital stuff then sold most to get a Minolta 5D, keeping one 300d and 2 lenses (then the 300d was stolen). I bought another for peanuts last oct. Then on my birthday my wife got me a Nikon D100. Of them all the ones I loved most well top place goes to the AE1 it took real work to get and I used it for the longest time. I bought a cosina off the bay a couple of years ago still use it on occasion. I prefer to use the Nikon out of all the digitals, though when the sun goes down the Minolta just rocks. All the time htough I have always had som form of rangefinder around my bag, just would love to get a cheep RD1.

Tough Question...
After a lot of trying I use Canon for my AF system (currently a 1d / 5D / 1n / 1nRS The pellicle mirror is a good send).
But my manual system has always been nikon (currently an F3 / F3HP).
But for fun... Now thats a different story.
Has to be my Contax G system!

Starfted with Yashica Lnyx

Starfted with Yashica Lnyx

and migrated to Chinon (K mount) now all Pentax and happy with it.

I shot Nikon SLR in my working PJ days. Over the years I added an OM-1 system; they are lighter in weight and quieter. In choosing a dSLR recently, it is Nikon D40.

Nikon - in the form of a D70, F90x and N90, FG, FE and EM. An FM2n will probably be my next purchase, if I can resist the lure of an F3.

I shot Olympus OMs for a while too, great cameras, but carrying two systems around when I wanted to shoot film and digital got me down, so I swapped to Nikon 35mm SLRs

I love Canon's compact cameras (I still have a Powershot A610, lovely little camera) but have never been able to get on with their SLR systems.

Used to be primarily Minolta, until a warranty hiccup shook my confidence in Sony shortly after the buyout. I'm mainly a Nikon shooter, with a pretty good represenation of K-mount Pentax gear as well.

Leica R9 & DMR - just fantastic. OK it has many failings if you're picky, high noise at ASA >400, lack of firmware updates, no focus confirmation etc, but boy do you get cracking images from it. I met another R9/DMR user today for the first time at the Prescott Hill Climb motorsport event in the UK. He swears by his R9 & DMR and has tried the M8 - three of them and got rid of them all!

... I have shot Canons since my first EF back in the early seventies and still shoot Canon today (20D).

Hi,

after going down the Yashica / Contax 35mm SLR-production (which i used since the 70s/80s) i switched to Canon. Nowadays I use my fullmetal EOS650-Body with foreign primes and sometimes my EOS300D, too.
Two Nikon-Bodies are sleeping well in a case since I tried them and saw that Nikonstuff is not made for me.
So I sold my Coolpix 5000 for the same reason.

I shoot Film whenever possible. And I use my M6 whenever its possible too.
For quick use and small luggage I have a Fuji F11 and a Ricoh GX8 which both a great cameras.
Unfortunately they are digital...

Regards, Axel

My uncle was a Canon-Shooter (AE-1) and told me to buy a Canon (AE-1 program) when I was sick about my Minolta Pocket. So I bought my first SLR. That was in the middle of the 80s. Then I bought an EOS 10, EOS 500n, EOS 3, EOS 5, RT, two EOS 1n and then a 10D that I still use for my job. Next will be perhaps a 5D. Not shure yet. Nikon? Good and reliable cameras indeed. But I'm happy with my Canon-Cameras - and even more happy with all that old stuff at the weekends :)

Pentax LX; about six rolls a year, usually with lensbaby or 17mm FF fisheye, still have three bodies [two with motors and action finders]though!

film - canon (FD, FL mount)

digital - nikon

I think I've said this before, but if Canon made a digital that would mount their FD lenses, I'd switch.
