Pockets for me with maybe a Mju slung around my neck or a GRD.
I personally would never let any store hold my bag, regardless of the contents. I tell them they are welcome to follow me around the store in person or with their security cameras but my bag is my bag and that is that.
At B&H a jerk at the door wanted me to put my Louie with a Leica into the bag check.
I had a rather big hussy fit and pitched a bitch: I said. "You wouldn't ask a woman to put her pocketbook into the bag check."
I then kinda blew him off and walked in acting all entitled.

. . . .
Should I consider my manhood diminished by carrying a "man purse"?
As I always say, Cal's the poorest rich man I know. 😉 Cal, you usually don't have that type of attitude. I'm happy to see it.
Just the opposite. I think that guys who agonize over other guys carrying bags are the "diminished manhood" lot - too too confused and worried about "manhood". Maybe they "doth complain too much" 🙄 ? ?

Vuitton is the only to go

You could be onto something. Much like those who rank Hummer Drivers in the notable "envy" category. Hey, maybe the guy just likes to drive a big, ugly, military style, rock crusher.
So you're saying that perhaps all these people who like man bags, simply like the utility afforded by one. Interesting consideration.
Chinese men can't have enough bags, the more expensive, the better, as they are status symbols, to the glee of luxury goods makers (bags make up 50% of the profits of that industry).
Hermès, more likely. If you want an excruciatingly informative look at premium men's bags, try this thread on StyleForum (163 pages and counting):

Cal, is he speaking of you?
