It is time to re-check the pulse of our little community! Are you a romantic? If so, in what ways? Shooting film? Doing things for your significant other/kids? Enjoying beauty around you in spite of the turbulent, ugliness we see everyday? Inspiring others?

I am planning our usual Spring photo-centric day-trip toward the Smoky Mountains with just a picnic basket, a camera, and no agenda. We are only waiting for the weather to cooperate and a break from rehab.

Inspire me!

Just enjoy the company on the trip. We hardly ever plan our trips beyond the target places to drive to, but we do not get tours or planned trips ... etc. Just enjoy the moment.

Yes, I consider myself as a romantic. As such, I never try to mix photography with personal time together. Each requires full attention. For me, it is selfish to dilute my efforts by trying to do both at the same time. Others see it differently, but that is me.

What are you folks doing if you are hopelessly romantic like me?

Our last "romantic" was an extended weekend getaway about 6 weeks ago in a little fishing town on the north coast of Cuba that now has a small (9 rooms) boutique hotel. I arranged for us to have one of the two rooms that has a large balcony overlooking the park. The balcony is large enough to have a table and chairs, so we had extended breakfast as well as dinners there. So we had about 16 hours a day just by ourselves.

My wife and I are very romantic, we changed money making Moscow to atmospheric GTA... No money here left after taxes, but plenty of romantic feelings and dreams.
Like no corruption, one day...
We are going to the forest right now. Son of our Ukrainian neighbor wants to take some photos with family Zenit.

Just spent, with my wife, a week with our grandchildren in L.A. Made a few black and white photos with my M3.

I don’t see turbulent or ugliness, just beauty. Let the 24 hr. news capture that and I don’t watch them anymore.

Dear Dave,

Here's to good weather, good photo opportunities, and a wonderful time.

When it comes to personal relationships I am about as romantic as a grizzly bear. It's not that I am never thoughtful or never say or do anything nice. It's more like whenever I do something no sooner has it been done than I realize I could have done a better job of it?

But inside I am horribly romantic. I long daily for things that I did in the past and the company with which they were done. I deeply miss friends and family that have gone before me and often wish I could have a do-over.

I suppose my way of thinking is just one more Irish curse?

Thanks, guys, I love each and every post! It has been a busy day for us and I am exhausted so I will not try to answer each one who posted but please know I how much I enjoyed reading each one.

The simple truth is, if one likes taking photos, I think the simple act of capturing images is a good indicator that one is romantic at some level regardless.🙂

And that is a good thing!

I bet there are a lot more RFF members who could post as well.🙂🙂🙂

Sorry, I don't know your first name yet... but you captured my attention when you said 60 years!!! We are celebrating our 47th wedding anniversary in July. But 60!!!

Dave, I have a strong kinesthetic component to my spirit and I consider myself a romantic, even though alone. I also love film photography, though I hope to add digital to that soon.
