Hi, I am interested in how many people actually use a (half) case for your M when you are on the street to shoot :confused:

And if possible, could you post a picture of your case (with your M!)...

imagine fumbling around, getting your case off to reload, in an active street shooting mode, seems like alot of missed opportunities. Luigis are good looking though!

I had a Luigi case for a while and really liked the quality and craftsmanship of it. But I decided that I actually prefer the feel of the camera without the case. And, as Todd suggests, I found changing film to be more difficult with the case on. Still, I sometimes miss the case on really cold days.
 
Sorry, but I got the original case with my M3 and as far as I can tell, the strap lugs on the camera have never been used. So the camera resides in its case, and guess what? I can use the case fine with the collapsible Elmar 90.

Call me not serious enough, but I like everready cases.
 
Leica M6 black everready case with or without the top, so it`s always in a half case.....great set up, works fine keeps the camera well protected, I`ve used my M6 well in the past and I`m using it alot more lately bringing her up to date with using various Nikkor and Canon LTM lenses on her, but she still looks as new as the first day I traded for her back in 1994

All my gear is excellent or excellent plus/mint minus and it`s in cases, what the hell did they make them for anyway? - to protect the cameras :)

The only reason I can think to use one is for that divine smell of leather whenever you raise the camera to your face. I had a Russian SLR many years ago that excelled on that score. I fancy I can smell it now...
 
Yes. My camera travels in my big bag along with books, pens, laptops, power adapters, clipboards, lunch, crumbs, and any assorted engineering junk that I need for the day. If I didn't have it in an ER case, it wouldn't last very long. Leica may be legendary for it's durability, but my commute and my bag can kill just about anything. Or I'd have to spend my film money on a CLA ever two years.

If I'm out shooting, then the big bag stays home (or at the lab) and my camera is in my hand. My ER case helps make sure that it's ready to when that happens.
 
I only have cases for my SLRs, and they're for storage. When I take them out, they go caseless.

As for my Leicas... I carry them in bags. I'd been interested in a Luigi half-case, but the film changing would become a bit more cumbersome, so I am simply interested.

A Zhou case on my M3,I want to keep all my gear like new as long as possible,to pass along to my daughter when I'm gone............Robin
 
"Aged" brown leather Luigi half-case for my MP, same for my CL.
 
So I gather that those who don't use the everready cases tend to keep the cameras in bags? If true, then I'm not sure how that is any faster.

When I shoot I keep mine in my hand, one lens and a pocket full of film. So speed isn't an issue.

Love the Luigi half case. 2 bodies with 4GB cards is always an option to avoid missing those shots.
 
No case. I hate the way they feel in the hand.

My Ms all sport a wrist strap only, to save them from my clumsiness. They're either in my hand or in my pocket.
