arggggh, addicted to Nikon F / F2

What does that mod do? I can't figure it out exactly...
It allows for an exposure to be made without slapping the mirror. The result is a silent shutter and no vibration. After the exposure is made you just hit the shutter button again and the mirror slaps allowing you to advance the film. BTW you can always just hit the shutter button a little harder on the first try for the camera to perform in the normal SLR way. Pretty cool.😎

It was the first "real" SLR ...

Love the pic, Tom.

The Nikon F Photomic FTn was my first SLR, and my constant companion from 1969 to 1975. I had the Nikkor 50/1.4, and on "semi-permanent loan" the Nikkor 21/4, Nikkor-H 85/1.8, and a Soligor 200/4. That was it for those six years.

Now I have a '72 black F with plain prism and FTn head, and a '64 chrome F plain prism. I've got 50/1.2, Micro 55/3.5, 85/1.8, and Micro 105/2.8. That's enough. 🙂
