I went on a little nature hike this morning with my GSN. While composing a picture of a small wooden bridge that crosses a narrow ravine, a large whitetail buck, along with his doe and a fawn, came crashing out of the woods and into my field of view not more than 20 feet in front of me. The buck paused and turned to look at me, what a magnificent creature, and what a perfect oppurtunity, perfect dappled early morning sunlight through the trees, perfect setting, a perfect once-in-a-lifetime shot. I gently pressed the shutter button, not even daring to breath.

No "click". I had not wound the film, and by the time I wound and was ready to shoot again, the buck was gone. :(

I did get some decent shots of the doe and the fawn as they hid beneath the bridge, but that big, beautiful buck will always be the one that got away.
