I took out my Argus C-44 on a foggy day. Isn't this what Argus cameras were made for!

Raid- looking at the portrait of your wife,

That is what 5cm F1.5 Sonnars are made for...

Hi Brian,
I am using the Sonnar 5cm 1.5 maybe more than any other lens.
We had lunch in a restaurant where light was coming through the ceiling glass openings.
It was dark, and the slow lens did not help here. Still, I like my wife so I like her photo. It was a guessing situation.

Raid,

I have a C-44 and a Geiss modified C-4 which uses interchangeable lenses as opposed the plain C-4 which has a fixed lens. Unfortunately both camera have shutter problems. I need to get them fixed and then start shooting. I'm really interested in comparing the traits of the Steinheil lenses for the C-44 and the Enna lenses for the Geiss C-4. I'm fascinated by all these little lens manufacturers from Germany, Steinheil, Enna, Schacht, Isco, etc.

I also have a Geiss modified C-4. It is a pain to mount a lens on the camera.

Of the two argus cameras i have i only use the a2b occasionally , i have contemplated trying the other argus cameras but have yet to do so since the a2b just sits, its a nice looking collectable though when it sits.

These seem much sharper and have a little less vignetting than the photos you posted of similar subject shot with the Olympus XA.

I find the lens on the Argus at least as sharp as the lens on the XA. The Argus camera is easier to hold steady than the tiny XA.

I bought my first C3 somewhere around 1992, and it totally changed my perspective on photography. Between that and my A series, the Nikon N2000 gathered a lot of dust.

The Argus cameras are not bad at all. I find that using the C-4 or C-44 is a good alternative to using the Canon/Leica cameras.
