Argust 13th

I got up early this morning...my wife asking the whole time..."Where are you going..???"
I've shot 12 frames in a 24 shot roll of the back and front yards and now I'm waiting to see what the light will do next...
While out in the front yard the old leather strap broke and the camera dropped (like a brick) onto the cement driveway...good thing I had the leather camera case on it as that took the only damage to it...I can't find a scratch on it anywhere other than the backside of the case...I checked the rangefinder alignment and even that looks good...
I hope to finish this roll today and get it developed...

I took two cameras with me, the C-4 Geiss, and a C-3. Only shot the C-4 though. Between taking relatives to the airport, hauling a neighbors stuff down to Goodwill, and dodging raindrops, it hasn't been a very productive day. But I have managed to shoot up half a roll of T-Max 100.

Got my film back...they are Walgreen scans and aren't the greatest...I was impressed with the results of expired (2005) Kodak Gold 200 shot at 100...

More from the same roll...I am impressed with the results of this camera...I should run a roll of B&W so I can print from the negs...

I have a C-4 Geiss that was obviously whacked by someone who didn't know what they were doing trying to fix it. But it has a good lens, so when a friend of mine sent me a working C-4 Geiss with a bad lens (another misguided repair job), it was simple to just swap the lenses, and I was ready for Argust day.

It started out cloudy and rainy, but I loaded up some Kodak T-Max 100, installed an orange filter and hood, and hit the road.

As usual I seem to never meet dead lines. On the 13th had my 6 year old granddaughter, we went to the park and I managed to get about 6 frames taken. Trying to get her to be still for a second is not easy. Finally gave up and used the digital.

What you've got there, David, is a flipped element. That's what happened to me when I was working on an Agfa Karat someone had messed with.

Rats, for some reason I had a lot of trouble with this lens, don't remember how many times I rebuilt this lens. I have one off a Matchmatic but do not care for the way its marked. And I wondered about this lens, never had one give me the same results. I thought I had a magic lens, you busted my bubble:^)

Not all is lost, David. There is a group on Flickr for Flipped Lens photography. A friend of mine had me flip one for him on purpose, though I didn't bother to record what I did. If I recall, it was the rear element. The more you stop it down, the less of the effect, and he wondered why it wasn't doing what he thought it should. Turned out he was shooting at f11 and 16.

I also flipped the center element on a Zeiss Nettar once, and though it behaved as advertised, I just wasn't enamored with the look.

I think you got a lucky bounce off that drop nikon_sam. To my eye these look better than your first three.

I didn't take my Argus 3 out. I have just never been that enamored with it. Beside which the rangefinder is quite yellowed and mostly unusable. It also took me a while to figure out how to replace the 50mm lens.

"Oh, you mean the other scale?" :bang:
