Is this the basic results most are getting from this combo.
Some seem to over exposed , which I'm sure is part me .

Thanks Paul, Been a while since we have talked . I would like to say first off , good to hear and see you are on your way to recovery.

These are the first rolls of this I have done , and first of the d76 dev. 1.1 I did these at 8min , continuous for the first 30 sec then 4 gentle inv. every 60 sec . I was hoping to hold down some of the highlights . Metered these at 250 .

I have so much to learn .

I haven't used D-76 with Trix for 40 years so I guess things have changed. But basics are basics: so change one variable and see what happens. For example, change your ISO/EI, if it is worse go back to the original, etc. Also, if you are scanning be sure that you don't change that process, while changing your camera/development side.

This assumes that you are not totally happy with what you have now. We have all gone through the pain of trying to zero in on the 'perfect wave' in photography.

As an afterthought, you might give some of your exposure information (how you meter: on camera meter, hand meter, guess). I'm sure that someone here that is familiar with this combo will be able to help out.

If you go our Flickr site and use the tag "Back to Basics" you will find plenty of samples with Arista Premium 400 and TriX in D76, mostly 1:1 for 10 min. I use triX and Arista Premium 400 as the same film with no problems. Slightly different filmbase but seemingly the same emulsion formula.
Your results can vary depending, as stated, how you meter, agitate etc - but the combination works fine for me - shooting mostly "sunny f16' and loosely rating the film at around 320 iso.

Chris, John ,and Tom . Thanks for all the info , John the link you included is a wonderful resource ; Chris thanks for taking the time to put it together. Tom I will make it a point to check out the other examples. Tom based on what you said I may have to shoot it closer to 400 and not 250.
