Russar lens on ebay

I've seen them at 5-600 USD, but this is really crazy. The rare time you see one being auctioned from a low starting price, they tend to go for 300 Euros max. Is there a way to block certain sellers from showing up, when doing searches?

You can block everything priced over a certain threshold. That's what I do. Irony has it that it's easy to block ArsenalL that way.

He is a second-hand photographic equipment dealer in Nuremberg, Germany. His reputation is somewhat difficult to assess. On one hand he has a good range of equipment on sale, sometimes including extraordinary rarities, on the other hand some of his prices are outrageous and there have been problems with some of his gear in the past (at least one instance with an acquaintance of mine). I think nowadays he's mainly catering to high-end exotica collectors rather than to people who actually use their stuff.

It could be that he's trying to determine market prices for some of his goods by starting from the top, that way he can avoid losing money if it goes away for too little.

Edit:On his website he' selling it for 550 EUR (plus 16% VAT for EU customers!)

I think the market will do an excellent job providing the correct price -- a price is a price nothing obscene about prices, whether its the price of bread, milk, oil, wheat, or rangefinder cameras. He has no obligation to provide us with luxuries we can afford.

I think Aresenall might be making some money at this and getting the prices he wants since he seems to have a sustained presence on eBay. I love his stock and would buy from him if I could.
