I just received the Artisan and Artist Torpedo Bag and I very impressed. It is very well made and had a great deal of padding to protect my M6. It came with 2 dividers, so I could keep my camera, lens and other stuff in all 3 sections nicely divided. It also has 2 nice pockets in the front for a flash or lens caps. And a zippered compartment plus other small pockets. I picked it up at Photo Village in NYC for $179 and they are discontinued now....I would highly recommend to pick one of the last 3 up now, before they are gone forever......just my 2 cents.

Looks really nice, Dan. I have the "Sabatio's Reporter Satchel", but the "Torpedo" seems like it would be somewhat better for inclement weather. What kind of material is it made of. On the website, it almost looks like some kind of vinyl. I like the smaller size too.

The size is "perfect" and on point for my uses. Its a vinyl type material, with a waterproofed outside. I would rate it a 9/10 for overall functionality. It includes a side area that kind of lets you hang things on it, if need be and the bag is actually made in Japan, so you know the bag is quality.

Congratulations on your acquisition! Looks reallly nice,

It's kind of strange that in America, Artisan & Artist* (A&A) bags have such strange names. It makes the range sounds almost like a series of Crumpler wannabe. Most other places/markets just use their designated names like WCAM-7500, keeping it true to A&A's brand philisophy of understatement, humble presentation and balance in design for their series of camera bags.

I find the special/waterproof zipper on your bag really innovative. It's a shame that it's not common and can only be found on very few other bags/brands.

It will be interesting to see their new range released recently. Specifically, the DCAM-7000 (JPY 39,900), ACAM-8000N (JPY 36,750) and the COV-7000 (JPY 29,400).

The above pictures are from the press relase in March 08 during PIE 2008 in Japan. Bags are suppose to be available from May in Japan.

Anyway, my apology for digressing... Do keep us updated about the ergonomics of the bag when you load it up and take it out.

Cheers,

Thanks for those. If I had more money I would buy another one of these since they will be near impossible to find after they sell the last 3 at Photo Village...

I have one of the A&A bags (forgot the name ... but could be the reporter satchel) but will let it go ... Soon to be find in the classifieds.

Many Japanese, like Korean, products do have strange and often funny names. They must get them from a dictionary. My favorite is the Korean car name is the "Galloper".

A&A bags are amazing for their light weight and design of so many compartments.
