Artisan & Artist straps - durability

I am talking about the cheapest standard cloth strap. I currently have it on the M3 that is loaned to me and I am wondering about using it on future cameras. It looks and feels nice but I honestly can see it falling apart and not something I want to hang a Leica on which will be worn every second day.

Any reports or opinions?

I have been using the same A & A nylon strap made for voigtlander for over a year now, it still looks news with minimum fraying.

I probably have five or six of their nylon adjustable strap models and so far they have held up like champs. Based on their heavy duty construction, I don't expect to have any trouble with them in the future.

On last count I had 8 of them (the non-adjustable flat version; on different cameras). Very solid. Nylon made. Note that you can get them in 90 and 120cm. Obviously I like them - they are certainly more robust than the original Leica straps. And less girly than > 50$ leather straps 🙂

I didnt like the A&A I bought preferring adjustable straps. For daily carrying of camera I prefer the original Leica strap. For long hauls (without camera bag) I prefer a strap at least 1" width.

I use the "cheap" A & A cloth strap for years and it holds up perfectly.

I used to use the cloth strap, too, for about a year - the Leica looked heavily abused, the strap looked like on day one. Surprisingly durable I'd say.

I've never been all that comfortable with the Leica, I sold it some time ago. I still have the strap, but no camera to use it with right now.

I do use the box it came with to carry my film.
