You can buy direct from Zeiss for 999 euros. Which puts it well over US$1,000.

I tried to contact some online store which not mention "out of stock" in their web site and get feedback :..Sorry we dont have Sonnar 50 black in our stock, we will inform when available.

I bought an Ikon just after Christmas and ordered three lenses and one viewfinder. So far, I've got one of the lenses. I reckon it's because loads of Zeiss stuff was probably sold at Christmas. There's a delivery coming to Germany (where I live) in about the third week in February. Incidentally, I wouldn't get the lens from Robert White as they charge top whack. Try Photo Mundus or SH Photo in Germany for a better deal. The former is offering new black Ikon bodies for €849 on ebay. The metal coloured bodies are about €100 dearer. You won't get such a good deal on the lenses but they will be cheaper than RW.

I am getting a used one this Friday, yeah. Not that many people are selling, maybe this lens is not as well known as the Planar and therefore a low volume item.
