Asking the experts:CV Bessa Copal shutters

Hi,

does anybody know if these shutters are designed to work dry or do they get a lubrication before they get assembled ?

I know that there are blade shutters which work dry, the metal plane shutter could have a similar design.

Who knows that ? Thanks !

I saw this late (well, 2 months seems late!) but I was told years ago that Copals have a special surface coating meaning no real lube is applied. Now, this goes back some years but those shutters of mine worked flawlessly for decades. I don't know why they'd change such a "workable" design. Then again... Hope all is well in my family's homeland.
