Interactive Typewriter Exhibit at the ABQ Museum by Joe Van Cleave, on Flickr

Yesterday evening I participated in the third Thursday of the month Open House event at the Albuquerque Museum, with an interactive exhibit of twelve typewriters. The ABQ Museum currently has an exhibit about the historic Special Collections Library which is celebrating its 100th anniversary, and we’ve had public typewriter events at the library in the past, so our two exhibits were adjacent.

There were hundreds of people who tried there hand at using the typewriters, and a local poet collected some sample typings and made an impromptu poem from them, performed by a trio of local students.

Here’s our website: ABQwerty Type Writer Society | Substack

We put on local public typewriter events, introducing people to analog, mechanically printed writing in a digital age.
