Thanks for your feedback. I bought a couple of the Promax cards today. Tested one and it was fine. Formatted it in the camera. Ran off a 102 raw shots in my office. Transferred the images to my computer. Opened it up in Photoshop, looked at them in File Browser (I still use PS7), and opened a few ithe the Epson Raw plug-in. Didn't see any problems.
Also didn't notice any speed gain either writing t it, or in transferring. The latter may be due to my card reader and hard drive.
I may buy another card, as I'm off to Mexico City next week.
By the way, I had a brief e-mail exchange with one of the people who had reported problems using it in a Canon. He said Canon advised him to format it in camera. He did that, and so far has had no problems, but hasn't filled the card yet.
Those were the fastest 102 shots I've ever done, and I learned about buffer problems (hopefully that explained the sporadic shutter failure).
