Attaching flash on M6

Hi guys,

Have a question about attaching flash or flash cord with hot shoe on M6.

I notive that on my M6, on the hot shoe of the camera near the front end of the hot shoe, there's a small thing that looks like a screw. I tried to attach my SB22 on it last night, but the flash wouldn't seat correctly. Looked like it was stopped by this small screw. My question is, do I need to remove this small screw before attaching a flash?
