Sorry bout that.
At least they tried to deliver your package ... I had to have one package sent to me three times ... the first time it never left Calgary and was sent back as undeliverable, the second time they didn't bother to send me a notice and it was returned as undeliverable. Fortunately the camera store I was dealing with was willing to believe I really did have an address and posted it a third time.

I'm going to know how you feel, Joe, all next week. My scanner should come Thursday or Friday...and MAN am I going to be excited when that package hits the door. It isn't a Zeiss Ikon, but to me it may as well be. 😛

I have all my stuff delivered to my work since I'm there more than at home most weeks and what has always bugged me some is that the carrier leaves a delivery notice in the mail box every time. I finally realized that this person never carries the boxes. Just the notices. So iget to go to the Post Office and pick up what ever it may be.
One thing that may actaully be helpful: on the notices here in the US there is a box where the originating zip code or country code is written. Do your notices tell you that?
Like my mom used to tell me(sort of) "If you don't go to sleep the delivery guy won't come."

If 'da boss has any questions you just tell him he's gotta talk to us - cuz we're your brudders and want to make sure he understands that we think your health must be like copacetic an' everything and right now it ain't. So you need to call in sick like.

I mean, if you get my drift on 'dis?

I am sure 'dat he can be convinced 'dat you need the day off to "recuperate"* - an may even another one if the first don't work out!

well, the damn parcel was not at the postal station. i took a quick run there get a money order for another hood i just won on ebay. i now have like 5 of them coming and i only needed this last one.

Half (Momma's side) paisano, Guiseppe.

Other half is a mixed wid some German (last name) etc.

Really, just a good old New York mutt. 😀
 
Maybe the 1.2, but as it was mailed on friday then probably the plane carrying it found a space/time Vortex, it happens, once or twice each 20,000 years.

my parents were born in new york but my paternal grandfather was also born in tunisia.
his parents worked the fishing boats of sicily.

of course (no kidding here) my godfather and godmother who used to live in sicily left for USA short time after my baptism and are now leaving around NY. I was born in Palermo, been growing since kid to adult age in France, now living my life 'round the world for 4 years 🙂

Well I am Italian citizen, soon British as well, but above all Tuscan.

The only slight chance a non-tuscan has to get an insight into the tuscan mind is to read "Those cursed Tuscans/Maledetti toscani" by Curzio Malaparte, here is what TIME says of the author:"Novelist-Journalist Curzio Malaparte made it his life's ambition to be hated by his readers. He succeeded admirably. By the time of his death in 1957, he was anathema to the right and left and almost everybody in between."

Hmm reminds me of some member of RFF but I ain't going to tell.. 😀

The book is definitely an amusing read and highly recommended.
