I propose this as a "sticky" thread where everyone can post their latest rant about eBay and any other auction sites.

Put you scam notices, "can you believe its!" and all and other sundry advisories about how bad those auction sites are here rather than starting new threads all the time.

[Of course the question is: If these sites anger you so much, why do you keep looking at them? 😉 :bang: ]

To Jorge and Joe - I request you make this a "sticky". Maybe that will reduce the "thread load" about this stuff!

Here's my rant for this evening.. I missed out on a MINT 50mm Elmar by six freaking seconds...
Why don't people snipe the old fashioned way like I do 😀

Life is a crap shoot. We win some and we lose some. I've been dealing with eBay for years, and I've won some and I've lost some. Nothing is ever perfect or fair. What is, is. I just keep on trying and hope for the best. Keep on trying.

GRrrrrrr.... Speaking of SIX, I lost out on a viewfinder magnifier by 6 cents! I dutifully sniped at 3 seconds before the end, and the guy who sniped one second earlier beat me by bidding 6 cents more. I imagined jumping up and down and tearing my hair, but I don't have all that much hair left as it is...

Dave: I certainly feel your pain. In my nearly year-long search for a Konica Auto S3 in reasonable shape, I lost count of how many times I got blown out of the water (usually in the last fifteen seconds or so) before I finally bagged one. You really have to approach the 'Bay with what I'd call "zen gunslinger mind" - calm, yet able to summon lightning reflexes, and still capable of shrugging it off when someone else gets the drop on you. (I'm still working a bit on that.)

- Barrett (who has a great idea for an eBay TV commercial, but I'm keeping it under my hat...which in itself is a hint)

I said in another thread that I was watching an Elmar that went for under $70. Every time I think about it I want to hit my head on my desk again. I've now vowed to stay away from the 'bay for a bit.
