Auto ISO bug on M8?

I haven't used my M8 extensively in a bit and picked it up over the past few weeks. Didn't quite notice this issue until tonight when I used it with a *new* Canon 50/1,2.

It seems that the M8 just ignores my setting for slowest speed on Auto ISO. I set it on 1/15 and the camera will just choose even slower shutter speed than that.

Anyone encountered this issue? I updated to 2.005 hoping it will go away, but it still happens. Am I doing something wrong or do I remember how Auto ISO works on the M8?

I think it priorizes max iso.
if you have max iso 1250 and slowest shutter of 1/30 set, and that is not enough, it lowers the speed of exposure further.

I think this is intended. It TRIES to keep you at 1/30 and raises the ISO accordingly. If it can't raise the ISO anymore, it lowers shutter speed as the ISO maximum seems to have priority.

it is not a bug per se, more a decision some developer took.

And notice that the LED display in the viewfinder flashes when your set shutter speed range is exceeded using auto ISO...

Second the two previous comments. The "Slowest speed" setting is just the value which triggers switching to the next-highest ISO speed. If your ISO speed limit is reached, the camera selects the appropriate shutter speed for a well-exposed picture.

Just be thankful the M8 doesn't stop you pressing the shutter just because the highest max ISO and/or the lowest minimum shutter speed has been reached. The flashing light in the viewfinder is telling you you've exceeded the camera's set parameters. What would you rather it do, lock the shutter button?

thanks for the clarification.. been a while since i used it! i guess my memory is fuzzy.

well steve, i thought it may just allow you to shoot at the highest ISO and slowest speed set.
