Well...while it is quite an accomplishment, it is hardly an "invention". There is quite a bit of "prior art" (e.g. previously existing designs and actual products) such as these from nearly 40 years ago.

He has something there, but it's totally the wrong target market. People in videography do have a need for this kind of stuff. VCC or AF data can't be drawn from a M so no amount of development is going to loose enough bulk.
