I attended the Avedon exhibition at the DIA today with a couple photog friends. I'm speechless. I didn't count, but I believe well over one hundred prints, primarily from the late 40s to 70s, but also a few in color and a few more recent (Kate Moss, Evangelista, Seymour). Many from the Paris days. I didn't notice the clothes and, after a short while, not even the beautiful women. Brilliant blacks juxtaposed with Avedon's flawless skin tones. They did a 48x36 of Dovina and the elephants ...
