I searched for good(w/ reasonable price) 21mm lens, and found out avenon 21.
Is there anyone who knows where I can buy it?
I found one in e-bay which was over 900 bucks.
What I want is cheap w/ not-so-mint appearance...
Thanks
ck.

The build quality of the Avenon/Kobalux/Pasoptik/Bower 21/2.8 is fantastic. Not-so-mint will probably be hard to find.

I have a mint Kobalux 28mm/3.5 with matching shade and finder. The lens is excellent optically and mechanically. I guess that the 21mm lens is also as good or better.

THere are several - 3 versions. 2 Silver and last one - black. Black is the most desirable one.
I used to have a silver one and now have a black one. Fantastic lens - gives images that have feel of Leica SA 21/3.4, but with a couple extras - faster lens and it's not blocking internal meter. All in all - great. They were made for just a short while and became highly collectible. So, as was said before - it's hard to find one, it's harder to find one in less than great condition and you will still pay a good price. So, If you want a good 21mm yet cheap - get a CV 21 - good lens. If you have to have 21/2.8 - well, be prepared to pay more or keep looking for a long time.

It's nice, but not cheap: Expect to pay $700-$1000 depending on what comes with it, etc. There are a handful per year listed on eBay and this Web site, including one listed recently (Pasik branded). If sold with the 21mm finder, that ups the price and desirability.

I just traded mine David. I know my price was a little high for you though. I might recommend not overlooking any that don't come with the original finder. It's larger than most and can be more cumbersome (and expensive) than the equivalent voigtlander.

The finder I had also suffered from a fair amount of barrel distortion. I ended up using an FSU 20mm finder with the lens, it was an excellent finder - a lot smaller too.

I sold a black one a couple of months ago, without finder, in the range quoted above. IMO the Avenon finder is a collectors item - strictly never to be mounted on a camera. It's too big and performs rather poorly as noted. Go with a CV, or maybe KEH or somebody has a finder for the 21mm Biogon that fits the Contax G. As opposed to the Avenon finder, the lens is an absolute gem.

The 21mm finder from the contax g is excellent, I don't see those around seperate to much though.

I've had mine for years, shoots well and still in mint condition. It's an M-mount, by the way.

Contact Jiri Ecer in Japan. 'Pretty sure he can find one for you. His email is jiri dot e dot jp at gmail dot com. He's a fine, honest guy to deal with. If that fails, the CV21 is a good performer too.
