Have you guys seen this?

Does anyone know this guy or whether he is still active? He says on his site that he uses Astia 100F for these shots. Is that the natural color of Astia or it must have been boosted up in Photoshop? I love the saturation and dynamic range in these pictures. It's got the right balance. I really love what he can do with XPan and Astia. It makes me really excited about the film Astia as I haven't seen other film making this kind of color + dynamic range.

Sharpness is heavily manipulated on the car images. If he does this it might be safe to assume that the colors are changed too.

Regarding the camera and film, I would say that Astia is a very good film since the colours are more 'subdued' than the legendary Velvia. Closer to a neutral in my opinion. I would also say that the Hasselblad Xpan lenses do have a character and this translates through into the actual shot. I've shot things with Xpan that just look better to me. Even using the non pano function it's lens with it's own character.

He has other shots in his gallery that does not appear manipulated. In any case, I really like what he does with the color. Manipulated or not, I would love my colors to come out sweet like this.

if you are looking for saturation, check the Kodak Portra VC you might like that one.

I have tried Portra VC. It's "nice" but does not have the "extra" that slides provide. I find myself working too much in Aperture to bring out the saturation and etc.

Have a look at Mauro D'Agati's work for highly saturated panoramics. No idea what film he uses though.

For sure images are manipulated as the elements being on one line having different sharpness. Car images look to be postprocessed with HDR to look more vivid.

I'm not usually a fan of high contrast/saturated shots, but this work is really excellent. Some great images and a consistant vision. I particularly liked 33 from the Vucciria set.
