Came up in conversation on another thread...
Some late pre-war cameras were black and chrome. I don't know how far the serial numbers ran in either direction nor have I ever seen much about them. Both II and III were available . I have yet to find a picture of the B&C II I had.
Herewith a III I sold some time ago. It is NOT a conversion, nor had the chrome knobs been added later.

O, yes, what a beauty! The paint work is near perfect and the chrome trim too. I've never seen one before. Very nice. Those shiny strap lugs!
From the 1936 batch 215301 - 216000.
Do you remember if it was an export camera (small tripod socket and the engraving "Germany" on the bottom plate)?
Erik.

Yes I think it was export with the identifiers that you mention. Open/Close etc.
The lens, however, is/was metres and from memory that is the one it came with.
The two 'B&C' cameras had to go when I was cutting down my collection to conversions only (and of course my first Leica (...oh and yes M6 and SLMOT and around 70 movie cameras!)).
We all love early black IIs with their yellow rangefinder but the magnification in the III rangefinder really helps me.

Just to add to the list, from the current Westlicht auction, a black and chrome Standard, something I've never seen before.
