My most recent order from B&H arrived at 10:00am this morning via FedEx. That's an upgrade from UPS which usually doesn't arrive until 5:00pm. It's like getting the package a day earlier.

Same thing happened to me today. Wasn't expecting anything until this afternoon.

I think that is for new items. My used orders recently have come UPS and when I sold my 24-240 to them last week it was all done UPS.

Fedex Home Delivery will deliver on Saturday, but 2nd and 1st day shipments cost extra for Saturday.

They are likely using multiple shippers, ask when you order.

Tho Fed Ex Ground left my X1D on my front porch without anyone home. The package had a “direct signature required” but that was entirely ignored.

I called Fed Ex because the tracking said it would be delivered Friday, when I knew nobody was going to be home. I tried to have them hold it at the facility for me to pick up on Monday, but I was told “no, it will be delivered Monday, don’t worry.”

Give me UPS any day.

I despise FedEx.

Their delivery people (Ground) are contract employees, and in my neck of the woods, the turnover rate is pretty high. If I'm out of the studio when they attempt a delivery, oftentimes they will leave it with a neighboring business (no problem with that, my studio is in a business plaza), but the driver won't even leave a tag on my door notifying me of the delivery. One day, I was awaiting the delivery of a parcel and when I checked the tracking number, I found that the driver dropped it off with a neighbor while I WAS IN MY OFFICE. When I confronted him, his response was, "I didn't think that you were there." He didn't even bother to walk up to my door!

Laziness and ineptitude has been the hallmark of my FedEx experiences.

I despise FedEx.

ditto ditto

Delivery people are contractors, not employees and could not care less what they do. Overnight special delivery packages have been left at my home when they belong miles away, different street, different street number. i.e. it was just dumped to get rid of it.

I can have expensive merchandise delivered "will call" to UPS distribution point so I pick it up at my convince, usually within an hour. I do not care if my shirt from LL Bean gets lost, I do care about expensive cameras.

People like FedEx until they have a bad experience, then they shift to UPS until they have a bad experience, then they shift to USPS until they have a bad experience. And so it goes. I have had bad experiences in the past with FedEx, UPS, and USPS, but they have been few and far between, to the point of randomness. I don't think one delivery service is better than another, so if FedEx gets my packages to me by 10:00am, and UPS doesn't deliver until 5:00pm, I am happy with the B&H change. At some point I'm sure to have another bad experience regardless of which carrier is used.

i prefer canada post delivery...if i'm not home they bring to the closest depot for pick up...a block away from me.
fed ex has the most rigid rules and employees...and ups is one heist away from getting shot in the ass afa i'm concerned.

umm not sure I'm pleased with the news. I've some issues with FedEx mishandling packages to the point of damaging the goods. Twice while shipping to Asia. Once a Leica R lens plastic capsule was shattered (fortunately the lens was undamaged). Another time lens was hit (and I would think it was quite an impact, because lens was tightly packaged) and it loss the red dot, and so on. Fortunately buyers where users, not collectors or things would had been different.

Highly prefer USPS or UPS for foreign shipping's.

Hope for the best.

Marcelo.

Same here.

I am expecting this to be me tomorrow when I have smaller value item coming from B&H and I will be here waiting for it. Perhaps I will just get a “delivery exception” notice instead, as it may be raining here. :bang::bang::bang:

I do miss those long gone days when one could choose how something was delivered.

B&H used FedEx several years ago for everything. I guess UPS offered them a better deal so they started using them for the majority of their shipping but they still used FedEx on occasions. I've had several UPS orders from B&H take longer than expected to get here due to UPS rescheduling and delayed pickups.

I really don't have a preference for shippers. They all seem to do a pretty good job around here. At least so far.

I don't despise FedEx, I hate them. Yes they come early in the morning, or sometimes late at night, or sometimes at lunch. Signature required I have to sit around the house all day not knowing when they will arrive. Recently i sat patiently waiting (new Dell computer) and i saw the truck driving down the street. Sticker on the door, driver must have missed the doorbell for that one and only ring. Had an expensive camera come back from repair, didn't know it was coming it was shipped signature required. Never received it, driver signed for it. On the electronic signature he wrote (nobody home) and left the package. Someone stole it off the stoop. So now when a parcel comes I have to sit on the front stoop all day watching for them.

UPS / USPS bot come about the same time everyday. The driver will ring the doorbell, wait and ring it again. If B&H is shipping Fedex then Adorama has my business.

Well, this is sad news. Fedex is absolutely terrible, and after expecting it to get better each time, it never does.

Fully agree, here. Ordered a new tv, amazon shipped it Fedex. for over a week they said they could not get down my street and refused to deliver it. Saw 4 fedex trucks in my neighbhorhood, none of them were for my street (3 blocks away).

Freestyle ships fedex, I've requested them to never ship fedex to me. Always an issue. I ship to my work now, and they refused to deliver because they couldnt find the business, a business they delivered to many times.

If I see my order will be shipped FedEx, I simply won't order from B&H. FedEx is absolute trash. I have at least half a dozen horror stories from FedEx shipments. In comparison, UPS has been mostly okay and USPS pretty much perfect.

I cannot stress enough how terrible FedEx is, including their customer service, both local employees and through their customer help phone line.

I don't know how they are still in business frankly.
