Back from Estonia, Arles next

Cheers Roger, I have emailed them in my finest GCSE French, with some assistance from the internet! Fingers crossed.

I'll look at hotels in Avignon, but it looks like those closer in are quite expensive and those further out will present a challenge to get to the station. The Arles camping option looks pretty cheap and if half decent might work best as it gives me the option to stay a little longer if I want. Only issue, as always, is safety of valuables.

How long are you all staying for? I am thinking a week for starters.

Arriving Sunday, leaving the following Sunday. A week is probably optimum.

The trouble with internet searches is that the cheaper places rarely show up.

Cheers,

R.

Incidentally, ignore the negative TripAdvisor reviews of the hotel. Yes, it's cheap and basic, but it's clean and central and at 40€ for a double room with private facilities it's an unbelievable bargain. I certainly don't recognize any of what the two 'anti' reviews are talking about, and I've stayed there many times.

Cheers,

R.

I'll arrive with Simo in Arles on sunday and leave next saturday (9th). I twill be nice to meet you again. ciao

My travel plans have come together and I should be there a few days before the 4th... you know, to relax into it ;) I might be around for a couple of weeks in all. Really looking forward to it!

Great! Where are you staying? Alone, or with Significant Other? See you Monday?

Cheers,

R.

I'm coming down on my own and will be camping (prob in Camping City, if it has space and is not too full of mobile homes/caravans for my tiny tent).

Yes, I'll be there to meet up on Monday!

You are easy to spot Roger (assuming you don't shave off your beard), but I will be the 6'1" slim bald bloke of 35 who speaks GCSE French badly.

Now the question is, do I bring my camera or do I take a holiday away from cameras...? Yeah, right.

Turtle, if you're wearing your camera as a trophee in the center of the town this week, you will be absolutly anonymous among a myriad of strange animals who are doing the same thing.:D

Whatever, if you want to have a good shooting during your trip around the city (Camargue, Alpilles, Crau, street-photo…) I may give you some precious advices.

Well, I am here. Arles that is. I see that stress is officially prohibited and that wine, coffee and fresh food are all reasonably priced. This going to be tough.

Now to decide which sort of ticket to get, as I might be here for anything up to 2 weeks....

Welcome in Arles!
I hope I will be there tomorrow for the meeting - actually I'm not sure currently. If not, I hope seeing you later in the week :)
Enjoy your first hours in the city - if you need infos you can send me a PM.

Hello at all the RFF members in Arles now :
Unfortunately I won't be here for the meeting this evening, because I will go out of the hospital only tomorrow evening.
Nothing important, I'm fine, only a dental surgery which was sur-infected.
So I can be free for another meeting from wenesday to the end of the week; I will be very happy to invite all the members for a RFF garden-party at home!
